With Lucid’s Jamboard Import tool, you can import a fully editable version of previous work from Jamboard into Lucidspark. Read this article to learn how to use this tool and how each of Jamboard’s features will appear in Lucidspark.

Jamboard features in Lucidspark

The Jamboard Import tool will recreate the following features as an editable board in Lucidspark:

Backgrounds
- Backgrounds from Jamboard will be imported into Lucidspark as images.
Frames
Freehand drawing
Images
Lines
Shapes
Sticky notes
Text

Colors used for freehand drawing, shapes, sticky notes, and text are imported into Lucidspark accordingly. See the image below for a sample import.

Import a Jam

To import an existing Jam into Lucidspark as an editable board, follow these steps:

Sign in to your Lucid account.
Select + New from the menu on the left side of the Lucid Home Page.
Click Import documents.
Choose the Jamboard application.
Click Authenticate and follow the steps to connect Lucid to your Google account.
- You will need to reauthenticate every hour.
After authenticating, select one or more Jams to import into Lucidspark.
Click Select.

Once the file has successfully imported, open the new Lucidspark board in a new tab by clicking View document to the right of the file name. You can also find the board in your Lucid account under a folder titled “Jamboard Imports”. To close the import window, click Done.

Insert a Jam as an image

In cases where you want an archive of old Jams that are not likely to change or want to preserve a Jam exactly as it appears in Jamboard, you can insert a Jam into Lucid as an image.

To add a non-editable image of your Jam in Lucid, follow these steps:

In Jamboard, export the Jam as an image file or PDF.
Open a Lucid document.
Access the Insert menu:
In Lucidchart, select Insert from the menu bar at the top of the page.
In Lucidspark, open the More menu from the top-left section of the workspace, then hover over “Insert”.
Click Image.
Select the PNG or PDF file you exported from Jamboard.
Click Open.

A static image of your Jam will appear on the Lucidspark board.

Note: If your Jam has multiple frames, only the first frame will be inserted as an image.

FAQ

Can I import more than one Jam into Lucidspark at the same time?
Yes. While selecting Jams to import, hit Ctrl-A (PC) or Command-A (Mac) on your keyboard to select all Jams. Alternatively, hold down Ctrl (PC) or Command (Mac) while selecting Jams to choose specific ones to import at the same time.

Importing multiple documents at the same time will take longer. If you have a large number of Jams, we recommend importing 10 or fewer at a time.

What interactive whiteboard hardware can I use with Lucidspark?
Lucidspark is supported on Google Meet devices, Zoom Room devices, and Webex devices.

Will my Jams look exactly the same in Lucidspark?
While the Jamboard import tool aims to replicate your Jams as closely as possible, there may be some instances where sizing, fonts, freehand drawings and other elements may not perfectly match.

Why am I running into a loop when trying to authenticate with Google?
This may be happening if your Jams are in a different Google account than the one you have connected to Lucid. To resolve this issue, follow the steps in this community post.
