Use Tagging in Lucidspark to add labels or identifiers to your sticky notes, shapes, and text boxes to highlight important information and categorize ideas. This article explains how to create, manage, and utilize your tags.

Create and add a Tag

Create a new Tag

To create a Tag, select the sticky note, shape, or text box you want to tag, then choose the Tag icon from the Context Toolbar.

Next, type the text of your tag in the “Create Tag” field and select the color for your tag by clicking the colored dot on the right and selecting a color from the pop-out menu. Once you’ve added your text and set the color, simply press "Enter" on your keyboard or click Create New Tag to add the tag. Repeat the process to add additional tags, and note that the tag color will automatically change for each new tag you create.

Use Quick Tag

Quick Tag mode allows you to toggle between taggable objects and easily add tags to them without having to locate them on the canvas. You can toggle between these shapes by clicking on the arrow keys or pressing "Tab" on your keyboard. The progress text at the top of the pop-out menu shows you which object you have selected out of the total taggable objects.

Add an existing Tag to an object

Tags that are currently applied to a shape appear with a solid color fill. Existing tags not applied to a selected shape appear with a transparent background.

To apply an existing tag to a selected shape:

Select the shape.
Clickthe Tag icon.
Select an existing tag to apply it to the shape.

To search for a tag, use the search bar at the top of the tag pop-out menu. The search will include tags that are applied to any shape on the board, not only the one selected.

Edit a Tag

After creating your tags, you can edit them by clicking on the Pencil icon at the bottom of the pop-out menu.

Delete a Tag

To delete a tag from an object, hover over the tag, then click the Trash icon that appears to the right of the tag.

Edit text

To edit the text of a tag, click into the tag’s text box so that a cursor appears and type your new text.

Change color

To change the color of an existing tag, click on the colored dot to the right of the tag to open the color menu and then choose a different color.

Change order

To change the order that your tags appear in on your object, click on the six-dot icon to the left of the tag and drag it to your desired position.

Once you have made your edits, click Save to apply the changes to your object.

Use Tags with Gather and Sort

After creating tags for your objects, you can use them to synthesize and organize your ideas. To collect sticky notes that have a specific tag, use Lucidspark’s Gather tool. For example, if you and your collaborators brainstormed ideas and tagged them by priority, you might use the Gather tool to collect all ideas you tagged as “high priority.”

To sort all of your sticky notes by tag, use Lucidspark’s Sort tool. For example, if you and your collaborators listed tasks for an upcoming project and tagged them by the person responsible for that task, you might use the Sort tool to organize the tasks by each person involved in the project.
