Compare two Lucidchart documents

Whether it’s current state versus future state, or simply two iterations of the same documented idea or process, you can view two Lucidchart documents side-by-side to more easily track changes made to styling, shape attributes, and shape data and quickly find where there may be discrepancies.

Compare documents

To compare two documents, follow these steps:

  1. Open a Lucidchart document.
  2. Open more-menu-icon the More menu from the top-left of the canvas.
  3. Hover your cursor over “File”.
  4. Select Compare Documents.
  5. Select a document to compare.
  6. Click Start Comparison.
  7. When you're finished comparing your two documents, select Back to Workspace.

In addition to comparing two different documents side-by-side, you can also compare two different versions of the same document using the Revision history in Lucid feature.

View differences

To see a detailed breakdown of the differences between two documents, expand the dropdown menus under "View Differences". You can choose to show all differences or only display a certain selection of differences by checking the boxes in this menu.
