Open a template
The Template Gallery is accessible from several locations. Follow the steps below for each access point.
From the Documents page
To open a template from the Documents page:
- Navigate to the Lucid Home Page.
- Click Templates from the navigation menu on the left-hand side of the page.
From within the Lucid editor
To open a template from within a Lucid document
- Select
the Templates icon from the Primary Toolbar.
- Search or browse to find a template.
- To view the full template gallery in Lucidchart, click More templates.
- Select a template.
- Click Use.
Create a custom template
To create a custom template, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Documents page.
- Right-click the document or board you want to convert to a custom template.
- Hover your cursor over "Organize".
- Select Convert to template.
- Choose a template category and add a description for your template.
- Click Save.
You will see the word “template” below the document’s name on the Documents page. You can also locate it in the “Created by me” section of the Template Gallery.
To create a new document or board using this custom template, hover your cursor over the template name and click New.
Lucidspark custom templates you create will include all content on the main board, as well as any content on Breakout Boards.
Note: You need to go into your Documents page to see the option to Convert to Template. This option is not available under Recent Documents on the Home Page.
