There are multiple ways to transfer documents between Lucid accounts. See below to find the best option for you. You can use one of the methods below to transfer files between accounts. If you made a new Lucid account, you can use the "Transfer via Backup and Restore" method.

Document Ownership Transfer

You can transfer ownership of individual documents and boards from both the Documents page and from within the editor. To see the steps to Transfer Individual Document Ownership, read our sharing article.

If you are an Account Owner or Document Admin of an Enterprise account, you can bulk transfer documents and boards from one user on your account to another from the Admin Panel. You can also change the location of documents by moving them to a team folder. To learn more about these bulk transfer options, refer to our The Admin Panel: Document Management article.

Transfer via Backup/Restore

Backup and restore is a premium feature offered on Individual, Team, and Enterprise accounts. To upgrade your account, check out our pricing page or contact our sales team.
1. Log into the old account.
2. Go to Account settings and select Document Settings from the menu to the left.
3. Under "Backup" select Download to save a backup of your documents and boards.
4. Select "User Settings" from the left menu.
5. Click the Delete account link at the bottom of the page and follow the prompts to delete the account.
6. Go to Account settings and select Document Settings from the menu to the left.
7. Under "Restore" choose a file and select Restore from backup to restore from the backup you downloaded from the other account.
You should then see a folder on your Documents page called "restore" with the date.

Notes:

Transferring via backup/restore gives the new account ownership of the documents. However, sharing rights are not transferred. Users will need to reshare the documents, as needed.

If you transfer Lucidchart/Lucidspark files created with features from a premium Lucidchart/Lucidspark subscription to an account with a lower level or no premium Lucidchart/Lucidspark subscription, the documents will remain view-only, and you won’t be able to edit them.

Delete User from Team and Transfer Files

In order to delete a user on your team and transfer their files to another account on the team, follow the steps outlined in the Delete a user section of our Admin Panel: User Management article.

Note: You must be an Account Owner, Team Admin, or Group Admin (Enterprise only) to delete a user from a team. You can only designate one user to receive all of the transferred documents. When a Group Admin deletes a user and transfers their documents, the user they are transferring to must belong to the Group Admin's group.
