Lucid offers user provisioning and de-provisioning and group management via CRUD operations against the users and groups on an enterprise account via our SCIM REST API. For the technical instructions on accessing the SCIM REST API for Lucid, please refer to our SCIM resource in the Developer Portal and post for help in the Lucid for Developers community.
Plan availability: Enterprise only.
- Available on FedRAMP accounts.
- SCIM is supported for Lucid GovSuite accounts, but requires configuring a custom app for all identity providers except Okta. Refer to the FedRAMP custom apps section below.
- Read the Lucid Plans article for more information about what is available on your account or the Upgrade your Lucid account article for instructions to upgrade.
Note for FedRAMP customers: Customers using Okta can refer to our Enable Okta SAML and SCIM in Lucid article to configure the application for FedRAMP. Please note that Microsoft Entra ID Government to FedRAMP integration is not currently supported. For other IdPs, please refer to our Configure custom SCIM 2.0 supported apps with Lucid community post.
SCIM app functionality
Groups can be customized with Lucid SCIM apps in your IdP for two purposes:
- SCIM for admin management
- SCIM for content access
SCIM for admin management: Used to manage licensing and granular admin controls at scale, including attribute management (e.g. cost center, region, etc). These groups can also be used to automatically provision users and Lucid org groups to reflect company hierarchy.
SCIM for content access: Used primarily to automatically provision users and Lucid teams to streamline document sharing and access. These teams don’t manage licensing.
Note: Because both of these group types within the Lucid apps on your IdP are used to provision and deprovision users, it is critical that the two be kept in sync. Specifically, when removing a user they must be removed from both groups.
Supported SCIM providers
Instructions for our supported SCIM providers can be found in their associated article:
- Okta SAML and SCIM (including FedRAMP accounts)
- Microsoft Entra ID SAML and SCIM
If you are using an IdP other than those listed above you will need to either manually manage the users in the Lucid admin panel or refer to the SCIM API Developer Docs to walk through the steps to set up these calls on your own. Get support and connect with our API Engineering team in the Lucid for Developers community space.
Learn more: After SCIM is set up for your account, you will be able to view active and inactive users in the Lucid Admin Panel. To learn more, check out our User Management article.
FedRAMP custom apps
