Integrate Lucidchart with Optro

For admins: enable the Lucidchart integration in Optro

Before using the Lucidchart integration in Optro, an Optro admin needs to enable the Lucidchart integration by following these steps:

1. In Optro, select the Site Configuration gear icon from the left-hand navigation menu.
2. Click Application Settings.
3. Under the "General" section, toggle on "Lucidchart integration".

Once the Lucidchart integration has been enabled, a Lucidchart admin needs to set up a Group in Lucidchart for any users in your Lucidchart account who want to insert diagrams into Optro narratives. For more information about groups, check out our Group Management article.

Insert Lucidchart diagrams into your Optro narrative

To insert a Lucidchart diagram into your Optro narrative, you first need to connect the diagram to your narrative by following these steps:

1. Open a narrative in Optro.
2. Click the Related Files icon from the toolbar on the right-hand side.
3. Click + Lucidchart.
   • If this is the first time you are using the integration, you may be prompted to grant access to Lucidchart.
4. Hover over a Lucidchart document.
5. Click Select.
   • You will be redirected back to the narrative.

Once your diagram has been connected to your Optro narrative, follow these steps to insert the diagram into your narrative:

1. Click Check Out in the upper-right corner of the narrative to begin editing.
2. In the body of the narrative, click where you want to insert the Lucidchart diagram.
3. Click the Insert image icon from the top toolbar.
4. Select the Lucidchart document.
5. Click Select.
6. Click Check In to save.

Convert Visio files into Lucidchart diagrams

To upload Visio files and import them into Lucidchart and your Optro narrative, follow these steps:

1. Open a narrative in Optro.
2. Click the Related Files icon from the toolbar on the right-hand side.
   
   
3. Click Browse Files.
4. Select a Visio file.
5. Once your file is uploaded, click Import into Lucidchart.
   • The Lucidchart file will appear in the Related Files section.
6. Select the Insert image icon from the upper toolbar.
   
   
7. Select your Lucidchart diagram from the popup window
8. Click Select.
   • The diagram will be inserted into your narrative.

Edit Lucidchart diagrams in Optro

To make changes to your Lucidchart diagram from the Optro application, follow these steps:

1. Click the Related Files icon from the toolbar on the right-hand side.
2. Under the Lucidchart file, click Open in Lucidchart.
   • Lucidchart will open this file in a new tab where you can make changes to the diagram.

To view the updated Lucidchart diagram in Optro, click the refresh icon to Refresh Lucidchart images in this document.
