This feature allows you to export any cloud infrastructure view and its associated settings from any of your Lucidchart documents. You can then import those views into other Lucidchart documents. Each view file exported from Lucidchart documents contains all rules and settings, such as: filters, conditional formatting rules, layout settings, and resource/line visibility settings.
Working with cloud frames in Lucidchart is available for accounts with the Cloud Accelerator. Contact sales to purchase the Cloud Accelerator for your Enterprise account.

Export a custom view
You can export all views in a Lucidchart document at once as a zip file containing JSON files, or export an individual view as a JSON file.
Export all views
- Open the Lucidchart document that includes the view(s) you want to export.
- Select the cloud frame on the canvas.
- In the panel that opens on the right, click the three-dot icon to the right of the view dropdown menu under “Current view”.
- Hover your cursor over “Export configuration”.
- Select Export all view configurations.
This will export all views as a zip file. You will have to unzip into several view JSON files before importing into another Lucidchart document.
Export the current view
- Open the Lucidchart document that includes the view(s) you want to export.
- Select the cloud frame on the canvas.
- In the panel that opens on the right, click the three-dot icon to the right of the view dropdown menu under “Current view”.
- Hover your cursor over “Export configuration”.
- Select Current view.
Import a custom view
To import a view you previously exported into a Lucidchart document, follow these steps:
- Open the Lucidchart document that includes the view(s) you want to export.
- Select the cloud frame on the canvas.
- In the panel that opens on the right, click the three-dot icon to the right of the view dropdown menu under “Current view”.
- Select Import view configurations.
- Select one or more JSON files from your device.
You can now work with the view in this Lucidchart document.
FAQ
Will global rules affect custom views?
No. In order to avoid global rules from affecting existing views, global rules will be transformed into view-specific rules when a view is imported.
