Access the accelerator
To access the Cloud Accelerator, it must first be enabled on your Enterprise account. If you haven’t yet purchased the accelerator, contact sales.
To access the Cloud Accelerator after it is enabled:
- Log into Lucid.
- Open the workspace dropdown from the left-hand side of the Lucid Home Page.
- Select Cloud.
Assign and edit Cloud Accelerator managers
Cloud Accelerator managers can create and assign teams within the Cloud Accelerator. Cloud Accelerator managers can be assigned by Lucid admins from the admin panel, or by Lucid admins or current Cloud Accelerator managers from the Cloud Accelerator homepage. Team organizer
With the team organizer, your organization will have the ability to create team hubs at scale to ensure teams have a home base in Lucid. Automated cloud infrastructure diagrams
This accelerator provides access for your whole account to create and view automated cloud infrastructure diagrams. To learn more and begin visualizing your cloud architecture, refer to our Welcome to Lucidscale article.
Cloud Version Compare
See exactly what changed in your cloud environment since the last saved state. Cloud Version Compare overlays your current cloud model against its previous version after a sync, using color-coded highlighting to distinguish added, removed, and modified resources. Click any highlighted resource for a side-by-side breakdown of which fields changed. For instructions, refer to our Use Cloud Version Compare to track infrastructure changes article.
Cloud Agent (beta)
With the Cloud Agent, you can generate a purpose-built architecture diagram from your live cloud data using a natural-language prompt. Rather than producing a view with every resource rendered, the agent filters and organizes your infrastructure based on your stated goal. Cloud frames in Lucidchart
Add a cloud frame directly to any existing Lucidchart document. A cloud frame is the engine that powers automatic cloud infrastructure visualization—the same one used in Lucidscale documents. Adding one to a Lucidchart document means you no longer need to start a new Lucidscale document to get an automated view of your infrastructure.
Once the cloud frame is on the canvas, switch to Lucidscale to create and configure views within it. For full instructions, read our Add a cloud frame to a Lucidchart document article.
Freeform diagramming
Create Lucidchart freeform diagrams with imported cloud infrastructure data. These freeform diagrams are highly customizable and manually designed by accessing your cloud data to drag and drop resources on the canvas. Generate Terraform code from Lucidchart diagrams
With the Diagram to code beta, users can use the AWS 2024 shape libraries to diagram in Lucidchart and then generate Terraform code from the diagram. To learn more, refer to our Generate Terraform code from Lucidchart diagrams article.
Data source sharing
This feature simplifies the document creation process for users on your account. Instead of each person importing their own data, you can share imported datasets with your team. This means new users can start creating their documents right away, without the need to set up credentials. To learn more, refer to our Manage credentials and data sources article.
Cloud Accelerator API
The Cloud Accelerator API is available to accounts with the Cloud Accelerator. Using this API, users can leverage a wide variety of endpoints, including but not limited to: endpoints with the ability to pull credentials, data sources, and resources specific to your cloud service provider, and the option to create and update documents from your data source. Lucidscale migration FAQ
What is Lucid’s Cloud Accelerator?
Lucid’s Cloud Accelerator is an add-on to the Lucid suite that improves the workflow of cloud teams by helping them plan, organize, and execute cloud transformation more efficiently.
What changes can I expect during the transition from Lucidscale to Cloud Accelerator?
If you’re already using Lucidscale, the accelerator will still feel very familiar! More people on your account will be able to access documents you share with them and your account admin will assign a Cloud Accelerator manager who will be able to create and assign teams within the accelerator. You’ll still be able to access all your existing Lucidscale documents and imported datasets. In the future, we’ll continue adding more features to enhance the value of the Cloud Accelerator for you and your teams.
Will I retain access to Lucidscale and all my Lucidscale documents?
Yes! Lucidscale documents and the Lucidscale UI will be accessible by anyone with a Lucid suite license on an account that has purchased the Cloud Accelerator. We will not be deprecating or removing any documents you’ve already created in Lucidscale.
How many licenses will I have with Cloud Accelerator?
The Cloud Accelerator is an account-wide license. When purchased, all Lucid Suite licensed users will have access to the accelerator’s features.
Who has access to import cloud infrastructure and create cloud documents?
With the Cloud Accelerator, all users with an Lucid Enterprise license have access to the data hub, but credentials in their cloud provider are required to import a new data set (and are only accessible to the individual that imported the data set).
Alternatively, you can also share data sources with users so they can create documents without needing credentials. For instructions, refer to our Manage credentials and data sources article.
What happens to my Lucidscale licenses?
Because the Cloud Accelerator is an account wide license, individual users will no longer need individual licenses for Lucidscale. All Lucid Suite licensed users will have access to the Lucidscale product with a single account-wide Cloud Accelerator purchase.
When will my account be migrated?
You'll receive email communication outlining your migration options leading up to your Lucidscale renewal.
When does my accelerator renew?
Accelerators renew on the same timeline as your Lucid Suite licenses.
