Navigate the Board and Canvas View Controls

Since everyone works, thinks, and creates a little differently, Lucidspark provides a flexible workspace with adjustable settings. Read on for an overview of the different components of the Lucidspark workspace and instructions on how to adjust your settings.

Account controls

Select your profile image or initials in the upper-right corner to:

Upload or update a profile photo
Access Account Settings
Log out of your account

Board Controls

Name your board

To add a name to your new Lucidspark board, click Blank board to make the text editable and replace it with your new name.

Search

To search the text within your board, click the Search icon on the top left of the workspace (or use the keyboard command Ctrl/Command + F) and enter the text you want to locate.

For advanced search, also known as the find & replace feature, click “Advanced” at the bottom of the search pop-out. To learn more about the options available with this option, refer to our Find and replace text in Lucid article.

New board

Choose this option to create a new, separate Lucidspark board to start another project.

Lucidchart: import a Lucidchart document into Lucidspark for continuation of your work.
- Note: the difference between Lucidchart and Lucidspark’s tools will prevent you from editing content created in Lucidchart with the same level of control in Lucidspark.

GIF: Insert a GIF to your board.

Export

Lucidchart: Export your Lucidspark board to a Lucidchart document.
- You will largely be able to edit your new Lucidchart document with the same level of control as Lucidspark, though the user interface may be different in some areas.

You can also export your Lucidspark board in a variety of formats, including PDF, JPEG, PNG, and SVG.
CSV of Shape Data: download a CSV of shape data to your computer

Duplicate

Create a copy of your Lucidspark board. It will appear as a separate board in your Lucidspark list.

Sticky notes will no longer have associated authors. To assign yourself as the author of any sticky notes, follow these steps:

Select sticky notes on the new copy you just created of your Lucidspark board.
Right-click with your mouse or keypad.
Select Claim sticky notes.

Convert to Template

Convert your board to a template to save time in the future.

Print

Choose this option to print your Lucidspark board.

Board settings

Navigation Mode: Set your navigation preferences.
- Using the Trackpad, swipe with two fingers to pan, and pinch to zoom in and out.
- Using a Mouse, right-click and drag to pan. Scroll or use the mousewheel to zoom in and out.
- If you select Auto, Lucidspark will automatically detect whether you are using a trackpad or a mouse.
Snap to Objects: Enable this setting to snap shapes into alignment with other objects for precise alignment and organization.
Show Grid: Lucidspark’s grid, composed of subtle, evenly spaced gray dots, helps you place and adjust shapes on your canvas. To enable/disable the grid, check/uncheck the Show Grid option. If disabled, the resulting canvas will be plain white.
Spell Check: enable to automatically check for spelling errors.

Canvas View Controls

Table of Contents

Use the Table of Contents to view all frames and Breakout Boards in a list and quickly navigate to them on the board.

Mini Map

With Lucidspark’s infinite canvas, your work is free to expand and take as much space as needed. In order to see an overview of all content or jump to another area, click the Mini Map icon in the Canvas View Controls. The solid blue lines on the map show what portion of the canvas is being displayed in your current view. To jump to another area, click the spot on the map that you’d like to jump to.

You can also access and set your canvas navigation preferences. Here's how:

Click the Mini Map icon in the Canvas View Controls.
Select Navigation Mode.
Choose Mouse or Trackpad.

Zoom

Check the zoom percentage of your board any time in the bottom-right of the workspace. To adjust your zoom level of your document, you have several options. Depending on the computer or device, you can:

Zoom in and out using your trackpad, mouse, or touchscreen
Click the “+” and “-” buttons next to the percentage in the bottom-right of the workspace
On your keyboard, press CMD+/– (on Mac) or CTRL +/– (on PC)

Full Screen Mode

To enjoy Lucidspark’s full functionality while eliminating distractions from your browser, click the Full Screen Mode icon to expand the canvas to fill your screen. To escape full screen mode, press the "Esc" key on your keyboard.

Help

Click the Help icon to access the Learning center (including tutorial videos, interactive walkthroughs, and Lucid Training Labs), the Lucid Community, the Lucid Help Center, keyboard shortcuts, or to report a bug.
