Lucidchart makes it easy to attach images to each step in a process flow. This feature helps those who are reviewing your document get access to relevant additional information.

Attach an image to an object
To attach an image to an object:
- Select an object on the canvas.
- Click
the Context panel icon in the upper-right corner of the workspace.
- Select the Data tab.
- Under "Attached Images", click Choose a file.

Choose a file from your device and upload.
- Supported file types are: .bmp, .gif, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .jpe, .tiff, .tif, .psd, .ai, .pdf, and .svg
An object that has an image attached will display the image icon in the top-right corner.
Note: Since PDFs will be attached as an image, only the first page of the PDF will be attached.
View, rename, or delete attached images
View an attached image
To view an attached image, click the image icon in the top-right corner of an object. If multiple images are attached, you can use the arrow buttons on either side to navigate through the images.
Rename or delete an attached image
To rename or delete an attached image:
- Click
the Context panel icon in the upper-right corner of the workspace.
- Select the Data tab.
- Click the three-dot menu next to an attached image.
- Select Rename or Delete.
FAQ
Who can see attached images?
Anyone you share the document with can see attached images. This includes users with view-only and comment-only access to the Lucidchart document.
Can I download an attached image?
No. Attached images don’t appear in any exported version of your document.
