Insert Lucidchart documents, Lucidspark boards, and Lucidscale documents directly into Asana tasks to give collaborators quick access to everything. You can use Lucid to explain project components and Asana to keep everyone up to date on the details. Read this article to learn more.

Add a Lucid document to an Asana task
Install the integrations
To install the Lucid integrations, follow these steps:
- In an Asana project, click Customize in the upper-right corner.
- Scroll to the “Apps” section.
- Click Add App.
- Click View all apps at the bottom of the navigation menu on the left-hand side.
- Select Lucidchart, Lucidspark, or Lucidscale from the list.

Install the integration.
- For Lucidchart, click Install Lucidchart for Asana.
- For Lucidspark, click Install Lucidspark for Asana.
- For Lucidscale, click Install Lucidscale for Asana.

Connect Lucid to Asana.
- For Lucidchart, click Connect to Lucidchart.
- For Lucidspark, click Connect to Lucidspark.
- For Lucidscale, click Connect to Lucidscale.
- Click Allow.
- Click Grant Access.
- Select one or more Asana projects from the list.
- Click Next.
- Click Got it.
The integration will now appear in tasks from the selected Asana projects.
Note: If you want to integrate Asana with multiple Lucid products, you’ll need to follow this process for each one.
Add a document to a task
To attach an existing Lucid document to an Asana task:
- Open a task in Asana.

Locate the Lucid for Asana fields.
- For Lucidchart, click Add your Lucidchart Document Here.
- For Lucidspark, click Add your Lucidspark Board Here.
- For Lucidscale, click Add your Lucidscale Model Here.
- Select a document from the dropdown.
You can access the Lucid document directly from the Asana task. It will also appear as a comment on the task.
Embed a Lucidchart document in an Asana project brief
Embed a Lucidchart document URL
To embed a Lucidchart document in an Asana project brief and include the URL in the Overview, follow these steps:

In your Lucidchart document, copy the URL.
- Don’t use a Share link.
- In Asana, open a project.
- Select Overview.

Under “Key Resources”, click Create Project Brief.
- If there's already a project brief, click anywhere on the title and select Edit.
- Click the area in the brief where you want to embed your document.
- Paste the document URL.
- When you’re finished, click Done.
Updates made to your Lucidchart document will be automatically reflected in your Asana project brief.
Embed your Lucidchart document as media
To exclude the URL from the Overview tab of your project brief in Asana, follow these steps:
- Follow steps 1–5 in the section above.
- From the format toolbar, choose Insert.
- Select Media.
- Paste the document URL and click Embed Link.
