Identify a phishing attempt
Phishing is the fraudulent and deceptive practice of sending messages that trick people into providing sensitive or personal information. A phishing attack may involve asking you to provide or reset your password, provide or update billing information, navigate to a malicious website, or provide access to sensitive documents.
Warning signs
The best way to protect your data is to remain vigilant. It is recommended to take caution if the message:
- includes unfamiliar additions to URLs or email addresses
- creates a sense of urgency
- intends to cause anxiety or another strong emotion
- asks for sensitive information
Note: If you suspect a phishing attempt, do not reply, do not click links, and do not provide sensitive information. If the message appears to be from a trusted source, contact them using a different method and verify their intention.
Report a phishing attempt
Ensure you always carefully read links to external sources. For example, if you are navigating to an external link from a Lucidchart document or Lucidspark board, review the linked URL before clicking through. If the displayed URL appears suspicious, do not interact with it.
Lucid will sometimes recognize suspicious links within your document or board. In these cases a message will appear in the bottom-left corner. Click Report as suspicious in this message to confirm and report suspicious links as phishing.
Within Lucidspark, there is an additional method you can use to report suspected phishing:

the link icon above an object on the board.
- In the menu that appears, select
the Flag icon.
Note: In addition to the above reporting options, you can also fill out the form to report suspicious links directly.
