As an account owner or account admin on a Team or Enterprise account, you can add and license users on your Lucid account individually and in bulk. Read this article for options for adding and licensing users.
Add users
When adding users to your Team or Enterprise account, note the following:
- If the user doesn’t already have a Lucid account associated with the email address you use to add them to the account, they will automatically be added to the account.
- If the user already has a Lucid account, we’ll email them an invite to join yours. They need to accept the invite to be added.
Adding users is done from the Users page in the Lucid admin panel. You must be an account owner or account admin to access this page and perform these actions. To access the Users page:
- Log in to Lucid.
- Select Admin from the bottom of the left-hand menu.
- Click Users in the left-hand menu.
See the sections below for step-by-step instructions on adding a single user or adding multiple users in bulk.

To invite a single user by email:

There are a variety of manual methods for adding multiple users. You can:
- Add by email

- CSV upload
In addition to the manual options listed above for adding users from the User management page of the admin panel, you can also:
- Add multiple users at a time by pulling a list of domains from your Google instance with the Google Workspace integration. For more information, see our Integrate Lucid with Google Workspace article.
- Set up SAML and leverage Just-In-Time (JIT) provisioning to automatically create users in Lucid when they sign in for the first time after they are assigned the Lucid app in your IDP. For instructions, check out our Okta SAML or Entra ID SAML article, depending on the IdP you’re using.

- In Lucid, select the CSV Upload tab at the top of the page.
- Click Choose File and select the .csv file.
- If you are on an Enterprise account, you can include additional user fields in your file, such as organization, department, title, division, manager, cost center, and phone number.
- Click Add users.
Tip: In the "CSV Upload" tab, you can download a sample spreadsheet for help formatting your .csv file properly by selecting Download example file from the top of the page. This sample includes the additional user fields available for Enterprise accounts mentioned under step 3 above.
Assign licenses
Depending on your subscription level, consider the following:
- Team account: Newly added users are automatically granted a license, since all Team account users require a license. Follow the steps in the add users section above, and they will automatically be licensed.
- Enterprise account: Account-wide license settings determine how newly added users are treated. If automatically granting a license is disabled, the user will be added with limited-access and an admin will need to manually grant them a full license. Learn more in the Lucid admin panel: License settings article.
Licensing Enterprise users can be done from the Users page in the Lucid admin panel. You must be an account owner or account admin to access this page and perform these actions. To access the Users page:
- Log in to Lucid.
- Select Admin from the bottom of the left-hand menu.
- Click Users in the left-hand menu.
To see the steps for each method to add users, read the sections below.
Manually grant licenses
To manually grant a license to a user on an Enterprise account, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Users page in the Lucid admin panel.
- From the Users list, locate the user you want to license.
- Use the search bar and other menu navigation features to assist in your search.
- Check the box to the left of the user’s name.
- Click Edit under the “Licenses” section of the panel that appears on the right.
- Check the box associated with the license you want to grant.
- Click Confirm.
Manage license requests
Users have the ability to submit a license request for Lucid, which can then be approved or denied by the account owner and account admins. To manually manage license requests from within Lucid, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Users page in the Lucid admin panel.
- A list of recent pending license requests appears above the Users list.
- To access all license requests at once, click View all requests under the “Pending requests” dropdown.
- Click Approve or Deny for a user’s license request.
To ensure users have the information they need to be successful in the product, Lucid will notify the user when their license request is approved or denied. You have the option when denying a license request to provide a message.
Note: If you use an external service desk to manage Lucid licenses, there is no need for action within Lucid, though pending license requests are still visible from the Lucid admin panel. When a license is granted from your service desk, the pending license in the Lucid admin panel will disappear.
