Keep stakeholders informed with check-ins.

Provide high-level updates to your stakeholders by assigning confidence values (off track, at risk, on track) and detailed check-ins to product items. Ideal for managing expectations and securing leadership support at any stage of the product development lifecycle.

The app is available on Professional and Enterprise airfocus plans.

Benefits

  • Simplified stakeholder communication Provides clear high-level updates (off track, at risk, on track) with detailed check-ins, making it easier for stakeholders to understand without dealing with granular details.
  • Efficient status reporting Automates status reporting, allowing product teams to save time while giving stakeholders all necessary information, including comments and check-in history.
  • Enhanced workflow management Allows filtering, sorting, grouping, and coloring by Check-Ins values, making it easy to manage and visualize the status of product items.

How to set up the Check-Ins app

Activate app

You can activate the Check-Ins app in your workspace's "Extensions" section, just like any other airfocus app. This app has no settings.

How to use the Check-Ins app

Add a check-in to an item

  1. Select an Item : After the app is installed, click on any item in your workspace.
  2. Access the Check-Ins app card Click on the "Check-Ins" app card within the item panel.
  3. Add a new check-in
    • Select one of the confidence values: "On track", "At risk", or "Off track".
    • Add a comment to provide context for stakeholders. You can also mention other team members in the comment.
  4. Submit the check-in Once you submit the check-in, it will appear in the Check-ins history. The latest check-in becomes the current check-in for that item and is displayed everywhere for that item.

Show items' confidence value on different views

Display options If an item has a Check-Ins app confidence value, you can display this value on all airfocus views. Just toggle on the respective field (or column in table views) in the display options.

Visibility on share links Check-in confidence values will also be shown on share links.

Filtering, sorting, grouping, and coloring by check-ins confidence values

  • Filter Filter items by their check-in confidence value the same way you filter other select fields.
  • Sort Sort items based on their check-in confidence values for better planning.
  • Group Organize your items in groups according to their check-in confidence values for clear visual management.
  • Color Color items based on their check-in confidence values to quickly identify their status at a glance.

Notifications

If you are watching an item (by being assigned to it or having commented on it), you will receive notifications for changes in the check-in confidence values. This ensures that you and your team stay informed about the latest status updates for the items you care about. If you’re mentioned in the check-in comment, you will also get a notification.

That's it! You can now keep stakeholders informed with check-ins.
