airfocus by Lucid's approach to AI

At airfocus, we care about our customers' confidence in the features we develop. At the core of our development process is a deep understanding of every workflow each feature supports and a relentless commitment to protecting your privacy and data. That’s why we’re developing AI features in airfocus that keep your data secure while providing the best experience and bringing the most value.

We care about security at every step of the process—starting with where data comes from, where it’s stored, and how it’s used to train models. Here are the facts:

  • airfocus does not use customer data to train models in a way that breaches the confidentiality of our customers' data.
  • We do not use your prompt inputs to generate content for other customers based on your data.
  • We do not permit our third-party AI service providers to use customer data to improve or train artificial intelligence models.
  • We do store items for your use, and any content in those items are stored for your use as well.
  • By default, AI capabilities are turned on for all airfocus accounts that meet the following criteria:
    • Accounts on the Enterprise plan created after March 17, 2026
    • Accounts on the Professional plan created after June 1, 2026

As we expand our AI capabilities, we will continue to do so in a way that does not breach the confidentiality of our customers' data.

Privacy, security, and your data

airfocus is dedicated to upholding its commitment to the privacy, security, and safety of your data, including with any AI features. Your use of these features is subject to either Lucid’s Terms of Service or your MSA with us (as applicable), Lucid’s Privacy Policy, and Lucid’s Supplemental AI Terms

airfocus currently employs AI models powered by Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service. Learn more about their approach to data, privacy, and security. To stay up to date with other best-in-class vendors we may use in the future, check out the Lucid Software Inc. Sub-Processor List

airfocus AI can be disabled completely to prevent airfocus admins from enabling AI functionality. Reach out to your airfocus team to request this action for your account.

Note: AI in airfocus is constantly improving. As a result, information produced may be inaccurate, biased, misleading, inappropriate, offensive, or outdated. Always confirm results generated with AI.

Access airfocus AI

airfocus AI is an agentic AI built directly into airfocus. Use it to analyze customer feedback, explore your product portfolio, and get instant answers—all through natural language and without leaving your current context. airfocus AI operates within a user's airfocus permissions and can only access items and workspaces the user has access to.

airfocus AI is accessible from any workspace page in airfocus. To open airfocus AI, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to any workspace.
  2. Click ask-airfocus-ai-icon.png the Ask airfocus AI icon in the workspace toolbar, near the top-right of the screen.
  3. Once the airfocus AI panel is opened, you can expand it to full-screen by clicking expand-to-full-view-icon-for-airfocus-ai.png the “Expand to full view” icon in the upper-right corner.
    • To return to the side-panel view, click collapse-to-side-panel-icon-for-airfocus-ai.png the “Collapse to side panel”.

When you open airfocus AI, it automatically picks up which workspace you're in. You'll see suggested prompts based on your current context, or you can type any custom prompt.

Here are some examples of what you can ask:

Analyze customer feedback

  • "What key pain points have customers raised in the last week?"
  • "Help me understand what customers are saying about our developer API."

Plan and prioritize

  • "Based on our OKRs and customer feedback, which opportunities should we consider prioritizing in Q1?"
  • "I want to explore prioritizing a potential customer commitment. Help me find candidates that could be de-prioritized and understand the impact."

Prepare stakeholder updates

  • "Draft a status update for leadership covering in-progress initiatives — highlighting any that are at risk."
  • "What is the status of our OKRs this quarter? For any that are off-track or at risk, identify what's causing the issue."

Tip: Click the item links provided by the assistant to jump directly to anything it references.

Start a new conversation

  2. Select New chat to confirm.

Tips for best results

  • Use item aliases. You can reference items directly by alias (e.g., "summarize OPP-1630") and the assistant will look it up without needing to navigate there first.
  • Ask follow-up questions. The assistant remembers what you've discussed in the current session. Ask it to filter, group, or reformat what it just returned.
  • Start a new chat for unrelated tasks. Each conversation has its own context. Starting fresh keeps responses focused and avoids confusion between topics.

Use airfocus AI to write item descriptions

airfocus AI is available in your item descriptions as:

  • Slash command
  • Context-sensitive editor

Use slash commands

To activate any slash command, type / into your item description field (as you would for headings).
