Install Lucidspark for Google Meet

To install the Lucidspark app for Google Meet, follow these steps:

Open a meeting in Google Meet.
Select the Activities icon from the bottom-right corner of the meeting.
- Some users may see the Add-ons icon instead.
Under “Add-ons”, select Lucidspark.
In the panel that appears, click Install.
Follow the prompts to log in with your Google credentials.

After the install is complete, you can access the add-on from the panel on the right of your Google Meet meetings.

Note: This integration must be enabled at the account level for your organization. If you don’t see the option to install the Lucidspark app, reach out to your internal Google Workspace admin to request that it be enabled.

Link Lucidspark with Google

After installing the add-on, follow these steps to connect Lucidspark with your Google account.

From the Lucidspark app in Google Meet, click Get started.
Follow the prompts to log in to your Google account.
- If prompted, log into your Lucid account.
Click Grant access to connect Lucidspark to Google Meet.

Open a Lucidspark board from a Google Meet meeting

Once you have connected your Lucidspark and Google accounts, you can open a Lucidspark board directly from Google Meet. To do so, follow these steps:

Select the Activities icon from the bottom-right corner of a Google Meet meeting.
- Some users may see the Add-ons icon instead.
Under “Your add-ons”, select Lucidspark for Google Workspace.
Select an existing board and click Select, or click + New Board.
Set sharing permissions.
- To allow participants without a Lucidspark license to edit the board, enable Edit permissions for “Guests”. This option is only available to Team and Enterprise users.
Select Attach board.

Use Lucidspark for Google Meet as a participant

To edit a shared Lucidspark board in Google Meet, follow these steps:

Join a Google Meet meeting.
When a Google Meet user starts an activity with the Lucidspark app, you will receive a pop-up notification at the top of your screen.
- If you already have Lucidspark for Google Meet installed, click Join Activity.
- If you do not have Lucidspark for Google Meet installed, you will be prompted to Install the add-on.

If you don’t see a pop-up notification, the Lucidspark app is not currently allowed on your account. Reach out to your internal Google Workspace admin to request that it be enabled.

Note: If you do not have a Lucidspark license and do not need to edit the board, you can observe the activity without installing the add-on.

Use Lucidspark boards on a Google Meet device

Create a new whiteboard session on a Board device

To create a new Lucidspark board on a Board device, follow these steps:

Click Start a whiteboard on the device home screen.
Select Lucidspark from the list of available whiteboard apps.
Begin brainstorming on the blank Lucidspark board that opens.
- You’ll see a curated set of available features while exploring the canvas. Check out our Welcome to Lucidspark article for a walkthrough of the workspace and details on any particular features.
When you are ready to claim ownership of the board from a personal device, click Share in the top-right corner or Save in the top-left corner of the board.
Input an email address to send the board to.
- You can input up to five email addresses. The first user to claim the board will become the document owner. Any users that attempt to claim the board after it has been claimed will not be able to do so.

Note: A session times out after 15 minutes of inactivity. If the board is not shared prior to timing out, all progress will be lost. Be sure to share your board to an email address and follow the instructions below to claim the board during the availability period of 24 hours.

Claim the board

After the email has been sent from a Google Meet board, ownership must be claimed within 24 hours from a personal device. For security purposes, Lucid deletes the board if it hasn’t been claimed within that time.

To claim the board from a personal device:

Open the email with the Lucidspark board invitation.
Click Claim board.
Log in to Lucid.
- You will be redirected to a Lucid login or sign up page, depending on whether you have an existing account.
View or continue editing your board.
Click Share in the top-right corner to add additional collaborators or create a share link, as described in our Share with collaborators in Lucid article.

Cast an existing Lucidspark board to a Google Meet device

Cast an existing Lucidspark board to a Google Meet whiteboard or touchscreen from a secondary device such as a phone, tablet, or laptop so you can edit the board directly from a Google Meet device. To do so, follow these steps from your secondary device:

Open a new or existing Lucidspark board from lucid.app.
Select the More menu from Board Controls in the upper-left of the workspace.
Click Cast this board.
Enter the 8-digit code that appears on the Google Meet device.
Click Cast.

You can now edit the Lucidspark board from the Google Meet device. To stop casting, exit the Lucidspark app on the Google Meet device.
