Create an entity relationship diagram (ERD) in Lucidchart and import it into Quickbase to create a new app.

Create an ERD in Lucidchart
For instructions on creating an ERD in Lucidchart, please refer to our Create an Entity Relationship Diagram in Lucidchart article.
Note: Your document must include a “Field, Type” block, not a “Key, Field” block. Otherwise, your fields will be imported as text and names will not carry over.
Export ERD as JSON in Lucidchart
To export your ERD, navigate to the shapes menu on the left hand side of the editor and follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Entity Relationship shape library.
- Click Export.
- Under “Which system are you using?”, select Quickbase.
- Click Copy to Clipboard.
- Click Done.
Input JSON into Quickbase
Navigate to Quickbase and follow these steps:
- Click Create new app.
- Locate “Lucidchart.”
- Click Get Started.
- If necessary, select an account.
- In the field, paste the commands (JSON) you copied from Lucidchart.
- Click Create app.
FAQ
What relationship types are supported by Quickbase?
Only Quickbase-supported relationship structures import properly; which includes any one-to-many relationship. One-to-one and many-to-many relationships between just two tables are not supported.
What are the maximum limitations for this feature?
The following maximum limitations apply:
- Tables = 80
- Fields = 50 (per table)
- Relationships = 50
- Field choices = 50 (per table)
