As the facilitator of a Lucidspark board, you can use these features to efficiently run meetings and foster innovation among your team. Read this article to learn more about the Facilitator Panel and additional tools you can utilize in your workspace.

Make yourself a facilitator

If you are leading a meeting, you can assign yourself as a facilitator in a Lucidspark board to gain access to additional features that will help you run your meeting. To assign yourself as the facilitator, follow these steps:

Log in to your account.
Open a Lucidspark board for which you have Edit and Share permissions.
Click the Collaborators drop-down menu on the top right corner of the canvas.
Select Make me a facilitator.

Note: If you want to stop facilitating, follow the first three steps listed above and then select Stop facilitating.

The Facilitator Panel

After you have made yourself the facilitator by following the steps in the section above, select the Facilitator Tools icon in the Collaborators menu at the top right corner of the canvas to open the Facilitator panel.

The features in the Tools tab of the Facilitator Panel will help you facilitate your meeting like a pro. You can use:

Laser Pointer

The Laser Pointer is a great tool for drawing attention to specific content when you are presenting or working with other collaborators. When you have this feature selected, you can freehand draw using the red laser.

Take the Lead

Use this feature when you are facilitating a collaboration session or providing a demonstration to collaborators. It will cause participants to automatically start following you when you use this feature.

Broadcast

Use Broadcast to send an announcement to the entire group on the main board.

In the Controls tab of the Facilitator Panel, you can click to enable toggles for the following features:

Timer: limit setting a timer to facilitators only
Voting: limit starting a voting session to facilitators only
Locking objects: limit locking/unlocking objects on the canvas to facilitators only
Hiding objects: limit hiding/unhiding objects on the canvas to facilitators only

Note: Facilitator controls remove specific UI components from the participant experience, but may not fully restrict users from using features.

There are many more tools that are beneficial to facilitating in Lucidspark. You can:

Outline an agenda in the Notes Panel. Prior to facilitating a meeting, you can create an outline of the purposes and flow of your working session. For additional information, check out our Add notes in Lucid article.
